BUILDING BURNS — This photo, taken at about 9:40 a.m. today, shows damages of the fire which consumed the Strother Field guitar factory of S. L. Mossman Co., Inc. According to Mossman, the fire began in the factory lacquer room while he was at his home, adjacent to the factory.
members of the Winfield Fire Department, first to arrive, are shown -
attempting to control the blaze. The fire department from Arkansas City arrived later to aid in the efforts. The building was reported by eyewitnesses to be totally destroyed at 10:30 a.m. Two units were dispatched by the Winfield Fire Department. (Hogue photo)
