Dear Miss Crawford
I am sending on to you today, from Harpers, autographed copies of my books as you requested.
A misunderstanding of Harpers delayed the books a little, but I hope you have not been uneasy about them.
I am pleased that you intend keeping my books in your permanent collection. It is gratifying that they should be considered worthy of a place there.
I remember your visit with pleasure and look forward

to seeing you again someday.
The book for this next fall publication is coming along slowly. Winter days are too short and cold for one to get much work done.
With kindest regards I am
Yours sincerely
