Description

Louise shared the story of her parents emigrating to Winfield, KS from Boston, MA around 1885. Her father suffered from asthma, so they thought this area would serve him well. She graduated from Winfield High School in May and was married in June. The Catons owned a marble works and monument business. Her husband worked for the family business for a while until he decided to move to a farm. He traveled a lot for the family business, and he knew it was time to stay home with his family. Having dairy cows was their main way of life on the farm.
