Description

Luetta was born in Indiana in 1891 and spent most of her childhood in Indiana. Her mother and 3 brothers moved to Iowa, and this is where she met her husband, Ivan. He was helping relatives in Iowa harvest corn. They carried on a 6-year correspondence courtship just seeing each other a few times before getting married in 1913 in Iowa. They traveled to Winfield via the Santa Fe Railroad. They settled on a farm in the area in 1915. Ivan was involved in the Cooperative Association, and she traveled with him to conferences around the country. In 1912 she became involved in the Women's Conference Temperance Union in 1921.
