Description

Aurthur was born in Stillwater, MN in 1888. His father came from Germany and was a teacher in Milwaukee, WI. He came to America to not get drafted into the army in Germany. They moved to Minneapolis, MN about the time he was to start high school. In 1903, he went to Concordia in St. Paul, MN and studied to become a minister. After graduation he moved to Missouri to start his ministry. Soon after he married his wife. He eventually went back to college so he could get his teaching certificate and began to teach in Missouri. He came to St. John's University in Winfield, KS to try and raise money for the school he was teaching at in Missouri. He decided to relocate to Winfield and teach at St. John's. He retired at age 70. He did still teach a couple of religion classes and worked at the library for over 20 years.
